Guild members receive a newsletter each month via email or US Postal Service. The newsletter contains details specifically for guild members, including minutes of board meetings and guild meetings.
Library
The GSQ library contains many interesting quilting-related books, including how-to books, quilting histories and even novels. You may borrow and return books at each guild meeting.
Block Lottery
Most guild meetings include a block lottery that we call Blotto. The block pattern is published in the newsletter and you may enter up to three blocks in the lottery. A randomly drawn winner gets all the entered blocks.
Charm Square Exchange
Almost every month we hold a charm square exchange. The six-inch fabric squares of quilt shop quality fabric follow a theme. The newsletter gives the theme and lists the participants in the exchange. You must submit three different squares for each participant.
Fat Quarter Lottery
Almost every month we hold fat quarter lottery. The 18x22 inch fabric squares of quilt shop quality fabric follow a theme. The newsletter gives the theme. Submit as many fat quarters as you like, and receive a lottery ticket for each one. The fat quarters may all be awarded as a group, or awarded divided into bundles to multiple winners (if there are many fat quarters submitted).
Fabric Birthday Club
If you sign up to participate, you agree to send a fat quarter (18”x22”) of 100% cotton, “quilt shop quality” fabric, to each person listed in the newsletter sometime during the month of their birthday. You may deliver the fabric at the guild meeting.
